my God is risen

John chapter 20 speaks of the resurrected Christ. So often we look to the cross and see Christ but He is no longer there. He is risen! We serve a living, mighty, holy God.

Daily I take joy in the fact that my God is living. Buddhism, Hinduism, philosophy, atheism and the like, none of which can offer a living God. I serve, we serve, a mighty God.

amen!

The theistic Buddhists and Hindu's (not to mention the Sikhs, Zoroastrians and various neopagans. Lets not forget the Muslism and Jews who don't worship the trinitarian deity you do) might beg to differ with you there.
I'm pretty sure they don't think their deities are dead (or that they can be killed) :-)

Oh, I don't see why philosophy and more especially, some atheist position, even needs to provide a living deity.

You sure you're not indulging in a little wishful thinking there?

Just curious ;-)

perhaps i am misinterpreting, but what i believe Ryan is saying is that no other religion is centered on a man-loving sacrificial God... and one who is resurrected. All of the fathers of these faiths have died. Christ on the other hand is alive.

Atheism and philosophy cannot save anyone, because of the fact that they don't offer a living deity... they can only fool.

Like Heracles, Attis, Dionysis, Mithras, Orisis?
The Jesus cult isn't the only religion with a dying rising saviour. It's a common theme throughout human history.

Why do people need to be saved?
Why should Philosophy or atheism be required to save anyone?

Tim: they can only fool.
Unless of course they lead people closer to what is actual - your statement simply assumes the truth of your own beliefs :-)
So, how does one figure out what is closer to reality, and what is simply "fooling"?
